About this Hands-on Lab

This hands-on lab is designed to show the similarity in code and commands between Debian and Ubuntu. In this lab, you’ll update both systems and install a package on Debian.

Successfully complete this lab by achieving the following learning objectives:

Upgrade Servers

Update the packages on the Ubuntu and Debian servers.

Install Links on the Production Server

Install the Links package on the Debian server.

Additional Resources

You are the new Linux administrator at Eucalyptus and Lavender Inc. The IT manager has given you two Linux servers; the development server runs Ubuntu and the production server runs Debian. First check for any package updates on the Ubuntu server and install them. Then, upgrade the Debian server. Lastly, install the Links package on the Debian server. Good luck!
