Observability is critical to any cloud native application. In this lab, you will be able to get hands-on with observability in Kubernetes. You will practice retrieving various kinds of metric data from a Kubernetes cluster.
Successfully complete this lab by achieving the following learning objectives:
- Collect Logs from a Container
defaultNamespace, there is a Pod called
foodwith a container called
lettuce. Get the logs from this container.
- View Metric Data about Compute Resources Used by Pods
Check how much CPU and memory is being used by Pods in the
defaultNamespace. Are any of them using significantly more resources than the others?
Hint: You can use the
kubectl top podscommand to view metrics provided by a metrics server that is already installed in the cluster.
