About this Hands-on Lab

This lab is intended to test your knowledge on configuring a Samba Active Directory (AD) domain controller.

Learning Objectives

Successfully complete this lab by achieving the following learning objectives:

Install the Software and Back Up the Samba Configuration File

Install samba krb5-config winbind and smbclient. Rename the default configuration file for Samba to move it.

Provision the Domain and Add the User

Provision the AD domain. Add smbuser1 to the local system and the Samba configuration.

Additional Resources

The CIO of Eucalyptus and Lavender would like a Samba Active Directory (AD) domain controller set up as a proof of concept for the Engineering team. He has asked you to configure a Samba AD domain controller and add and test a user account. The Samba server should run on Linux with a Windows AD controller.

Due to dependencies in the lab environment, please use the Cloud Playground for this lab instead of the lab servers. Good luck!
