Datastore vs. BigTable

I’m having a hard time with questions related to choose between Datastore and BigTable.

I understand that Bigtable is used for analytical purposes while Datastore for transactional purposes. But I’ve seem plenty of questions related to the use of Bigtable as an ‘transactional’ tool, specially when latency is concerned.

What is the sure fire way to pick the right product in such kind of questions?

I’m not sure I’d consider Bigtable to be transactional by design, it’s more optimized for high volumes of data and analytics. Datastore (and Firestore) are designed for transactional NoSQL data. Hope this helps!
