Bigquery and Data Studio, to OWNER or not to OWNER?

I couldn’t find the specific question, but I’m studying from different sources. From another website, there was a question asking on how to control costs on Data Studio generated reports from BQ. Their answer has the following:

In Data Studio, enable caching on reports for reading from BigQuery. No need to change the credentials.

But I’m quite sure that I got questions stating that the only way to enable caching in a Data Studio report is to grant OWNER credentials to the connection, and then turn on the caching.

I’m missing some link here. Can you please help me here?
