Bare Metal Instance on shared Hardware?

Hello! Something that caught my attention is that if I select an a1.metal instance for example, during the creation of the instance I see that under the tenancy you can select "Shared – Run a shared hardware instance". Isn’t that against what a metal instance is? I tried to find documentation about it but I didn’t fin any. Anyone has an idea about it?
