How connection is safe in AWS direct connect with VPN. VPN runs over internet. I didn’t get it how it can be private line

You can establish a VPN connection over any data line, be it Internet or over a private leased line like Direct Connect.  This is called tunneling and is a very common way to provide an extra layer of security internal to an organization as well as external over the internet.
