I tried opening the User link (PutObject, s3readOnly) in a private tab and therefore did not get my root account getting logged out.
This is FYI. Browser Chrome.
But if someone who knows why I was able to do that and explains, would be much appreciated. Thanks!

This could be because you tried opening the page in a private tab. Usually AWS console sessions’ access is dependent on the cookies that store the authentication token for that session.
When you tried to open the page in a new "private" tab, the page could not load any active cookie that possessed the authentication token, and thus your account (root) is not logged out .
