I am planning to take exam for aws certified security-specialty. According to the prerequisites (I see any associated certification should help in taking this exam). I hold associate developer certificate but expired last month. Am I eligible for taking this exam ??

In new version of exam guide the prerequisite was removed. You no longer need to have an existing AWS certification to take AWS Certified Security Specialty Exam. Thanks.
If you are just asking eligibility, the answer is yes.
