About the course

This certification prep course for the Microsoft Azure Administrator exam is intended to assist in assessing your readiness to take the AZ-104 exam. This exam follows the Microsoft Job Role assessment model to ensure that a Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate has the required knowledge and skills to handle the job.

A typical Azure Administrator implements, manages, and monitors identity, governance, storage, compute, and virtual networks in a cloud environment. An Azure Administrator can also provision, size, monitor, and adjust resources as appropriate.

Skills measured for the exam are:

  • Manage Azure identities and governance (15-20%)
  • Implement and manage storage (15-20%)
  • Deploy and manage Azure compute resources (20-25%)
  • Configure and manage virtual networking (25-30%)
  • Monitor and back up Azure resources (10-15%)

Note: These percentages are intended to show an estimation of the number of questions to expect for each skill area measured.

What you will need

  • There are no prior certification exams required to achieve the Azure Administrator Associate AZ-104 certification. However, candidates should have a minimum of six months of hands-on experience in administering Azure. Candidates should have a strong understanding of core Azure services, Azure workloads, security, and governance.Candidates for this exam should have experience in using PowerShell, the command-line interface, Azure Portal, and ARM templates. Students still needing the required hands-on experience should take the AZ-900 introductory Azure Fundamentals course and then return to take this course.

What are Hands-on Labs

What's the difference between theoretical knowledge and real skills? Practical real-world experience. That's where Hands-on Labs come in! Hands-on Labs are guided, interactive experiences that help you learn and practice real-world scenarios in real cloud environments. Hands-on Labs are seamlessly integrated in courses, so you can learn by doing.
