About this Hands-on Lab

In this hands-on lab, you are a DevOps Engineer. Your application has an API Key in key.txt located in the /app directory. You need to retrieve the key and save it in the application directory. This lab will show you how to access an app instance in Cloud Foundry.

Successfully complete this lab by achieving the following learning objectives:

Save the data from the key file.
The key file should have data.

Additional Resources

  1. Register for a Pivotal Cloud Foundry account.
  2. Use the cf-cli to log in to your Pivotal Cloud Foundry account.
  3. Clean up any lingering resources.
  4. Located in /root is key-node.
  5. Execute a cf push to bootstrap the environment.
  6. After the app is deployed, you need to access it to recover the data that is in key.txt. The file is located in /app.
  7. Save the the data in /root/key-node/key.txt.
  8. Once complete, delete the app from Cloud Foundry.
