This lab will present you with several overage costs due to non-optimal network services being utilized for your Flying Bears & You, Inc. company. You will utilize the AWS Pricing Calculator to review cost changes in switching the network setup and then implement the changes that help cut costs.
Learning Objectives
Successfully complete this lab by achieving the following learning objectives:
- Current Costs and Endpoint Creation
This objective will include creating an estimate in the AWS Pricing Calculator to review the current environment costs and the costs of the expected change. You will then create and test the VPC endpoint to allow the private instance access to S3.
- Create a NAT Gateway and Compare Costs
This objective will include creating a NAT gateway to allow the private instance access to the internet. You will need to update the route table as well to ensure that access is complete. Then, you will add the gateway to the estimate with the costs of the changes and compare the costs of the changes to the costs of the environment before changes were made.
