About this Hands-on Lab

In this hands-on lab scenario, you are a Lead Engineer working at Gurus United Technologies. Your manager needs help reviewing a code base to check for any code issues contributing to poor application performance. Amazon CodeGuru will be used to review the code base for possible bugs. You will associate a repository and review the recommendations provided.

Learning Objectives

Successfully complete this lab by achieving the following learning objectives:

Associate a Repository
  1. Navigate to GitHub.
  2. Fork the example reviewer repository into your new repository.
  3. Navigate to Amazon CodeGuru.
  4. From the left dashboard menu, click Associated Repositories to connect a repository.
  5. Click Associate Repository.
  6. Select GitHub as the repository provider.
  7. Click Connect to GitHub and enter your credentials.
  8. Select a repository location.
Conduct a Repository Analysis Review
  1. From the left dashboard menu, click Code Reviews to connect a repository.
  2. Under Code Reviews, click Repository Analysis to conduct a review.
  3. Click Create Repository Analysis.
  4. Select Associated repository.
  5. Select a branch or leave blank to review the entire repository.
  6. Rename the code review.
  7. Click Create Repository Analysis.
Review Recommendations
  1. From the left dashboard menu, click Code Reviews to connect a repository.
  2. Under Code Reviews, click Repository Analysis to conduct a review.
  3. Click the name of the review previously created.
  4. Review information and recommendations provided.

Additional Resources

Log in to the AWS Management Console using the credentials provided on the lab instructions page. Make sure you're using the us-east-1 region.
