About this Hands-on Lab

In this hands-on lab, you will be searching for a container image and then pulling two different images using tags. Familiarity with basic container concepts and working on a command line are recommended. Upon completion of this lab, you will have the knowledge and skills required to search for Docker Hub container images and pull images using different tags that are available for the images. In addition, you will also be able to verify that the images downloaded locally to the server you are using.

Learning Objectives

Successfully complete this lab by achieving the following learning objectives:

Log In to the Server

Log in to server-1 using the cloud_user account.

Pull Two MySQL Images
  • Search for the official MySQL image.
  • Pull the official MySQL image with the tag 5.5.
  • Pull the official MySQL image with the tag latest.
Verify the Images Downloaded

Verify that the local system has two different MySQL container images.

In this scenario, you have been asked by a colleague to use Docker to pull two images to their system named server-1. The images they would like you to pull are the official MySQL container images with the tags 5.5 and latest.
