About this Hands-on Lab

In this lab, we will be creating a resource group by tagging instances by group and department name. Resource groups are an important feature that can be used to track costs and perform bulk actions on the resources within a resource group.

Learning Objectives

Successfully complete this lab by achieving the following learning objectives:

Log In to the AWS Console

Get to the lab enviorment.

Create Tags and New Instance

Tag the preexisting instance and create a new instance with the resource group tag.

Create a Tag-Based Resource Group

Navigate to the Resource Group section of the console and create a tag-based resource group.

Additional Resources

We will be acting as a cloud engineer that would like to monitor a resource group with the use of tags.
