In this hands-on lab, you are asked to fail over an RDS instance. After completing this lab, students will have hands-on experience working with Multi-AZ RDS instances.

Learning Objectives

Successfully complete this lab by achieving the following learning objectives:

Convert RDS Instance to Multi-AZ

Convert existing single Availability Zone RDS instance to Multi-AZ. Be certain to confirm this via the instance configuration.

Initiate Multi-AZ Failover

Reboot the instance and initate a Multi-AZ failover.

Confirm Failover Outcome

Check the event log to confirm the failover was sucessful.
