Deploying an App to a New Cloud Foundry Space

About this Hands-on Lab

This Live Environment will show you the basics of managing spaces in Cloud Foundry. You are a DevOps Engineer that needs to create a space and deploy an app to that newly created space. Once complete you will then delete the app and the space.

Learning Objectives

Successfully complete this lab by achieving the following learning objectives:

Verify that a space called production has been created.
Target the production space
Deploy and ruby app to Cloud Foundry

Additional Resources

Register for a Pivotal Cloud Foundry account.

Use the cf-cli to login into your Pivotal Cloud Foundry account.

Cleanup any lingering resources.

Create a space called production.

Change over to the production space.

Execute the push command to deploy an Express app to Pivotal Cloud Foundry.

Name the app whatever you want. Give the app 256 Megs of RAM and 256 Megs of disk space and use a random route.

Verify the app deployed by pulling it up in a web broswer.

Once complete delete the app from Cloud Foundry and the production space.
