Configure a Static IP Address on BRADHCP1
  1. Configure a static IP address of 10.2.1.2 on BRADHCP1
  2. Set the default gateway
  3. Set the DNS Server to 168.63.129.16

Create a DHCP Scope
  1. Create a DHCP scope for 10.2.1.0/24
  2. Exclude the IP address for BRADHCP1
  3. Set the default gateway
  4. Set the DNS Server to 168.63.129.16
Test the DHCP Scope

Test the DHCP scope from the DHCP client BRASVR1

Create and Test a DHCP Reservation

Create and test a DHCP reservation of 10.2.1.11 for BRASVR1

Scenario

As you walk through the lab, consider the following scenario:

You are the senior systems engineer for Barrier Reef Audio, a company that focuses on generating text from speech using a range of high-quality audio equipment and machine learning.

You are responsible for configuring networking services including IP addressing with Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) using Windows Server.

In this lab, you will:

  1. Configure a static IP address on the DHCP Server
  2. Install the DHCP Server role
  3. Create a DHCP scope
  4. Test the DHCP scope from the DHCP client
  5. Create and test a DHCP reservation

Lab Setup

In this lab, you will be connecting to VMs using Remote Desktop. You won’t need to access the Azure portal.

Note: To complete this lab, you will need to use a remote desktop client.
