This lab walks through the process of configuring Hyper-V Switch Embedded Teaming using Windows Server.

Learning Objectives

Successfully complete this lab by achieving the following learning objectives:

Connect to BRAVM1
  1. Connect to BRAHV1 using Remote Desktop and the credentials provided.
  2. Connect to BRAVM1 using Virtual Machine Connect from the Hyper-V management console.
  3. Log in to BRAVM1 using the username Administrator and the same password as BRAHV1 from the lab details.
Install Hyper-V
  1. Install Hyper-V on BRAVM1.
  2. Restart BRAVM1.
Configure a Switch Embedded Network Team

Configure a Switch Embedded Network Team using the two network adapters connected to BRAVM1.

Scenario

As you walk through the lab, consider the following scenario:

You are the senior systems engineer at Barrier Reef Audio, a company that focuses on generating text from speech using a range of high-quality audio equipment and machine learning.

You are responsible for managing the Hyper-V Virtualization environment at Barrier Reef Audio. You are in the process of updating the in-house documentation for configuring Hyper-V networking. You need to update the legacy load-balancing and failover documentation (LBFO) to show the new process for configuring Hyper-V Switch Embedded Teaming.

In this lab, you will:

  1. Connect to the VM.
  2. Install Hyper-V.
  3. Configure a Switch Embedded Network Team.

Lab Setup

In this lab, you will be connecting to VMs using remote desktop. You won’t need to access the Azure portal.
