About this Hands-on Lab

You are working on securing your Windows Server virtual machines by encrypting their disks with Azure Disk Encryption. To do this, in this hands-on lab, you will be deploying an Azure Key Vault and an Azure Key Vault key to be used for the encryption key.

Learning Objectives

Successfully complete this lab by achieving the following learning objectives:

Enable Disk Encryption
  • Enable disk encryption for the virtual machine on its OS and data disks.
Deploy Azure Key Vault
  • Create an Azure Key Vault.
    • Configure an access policy to allow Key Vault to encrypt VM disks.
  • Create a Key Vault key.
Confirm Encryption Has Been Applied
  • Log in to the virtual machine.
  • Confirm that BitLocker has been enabled.
