Setting a proper logbucket storage.

Quick question, I am trying to do the compute vm with the startup script that writes the logs to the log bucket of my choice. I created a log bucket and did a symlink to it within the log area of my gcp console but when I add the script with the log bucket name to the my vm creation it doesnt see it for some reason
