Is ACG throttling the video speed?

I regularly use a Chrome extension called Video Speed Controller to speed up videos on pretty much every website. I’m finding that the video here on ACG doesn’t get far before it stops, buffers, and slows down to 2x. Is ACG throttling the video speed?
