Why don’t you mention IOPS with HDD?

Why don’t you mention IOPS with HDD?  I am guesssing because if IOPS are a concern on the exam, you want us to think SSD?

The HDD offerings in EBS offer throughput-based performance, rather than SSD that offer IOPS-based performance, see https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/UserGuide/ebs-volume-types.html#EBSVolumeTypes_st1 :


Throughput Optimized HDD (st1) volumes provide low-cost magnetic storage that defines performance in terms of throughput rather than IOPS.
