I suggest you pick a learning path and go through the material i.e. https://learn.acloud.guru/learning-path/aws-architect. A lot of the lectures include setting up / configuring AWS resources that you can follow along with in your own account or in a cloud playground environment. So you will get the theory and the practical experience.
