AWS WAF

I just got my first AWS job and requested to create WAF for a instance. What i did was create a LB and associate the (1) single instance. I went on to create the WAF but i have challenges in creting rules. How do i create rules and how do i test that it has been implemented. Please I need this response urgently as i’m under pressure.
