SLAs for Azure Functions

In the course it was mentioned there are no SLAs for free services… Does that mean we should accept a certain risk when we use services such as Azure Functions?

Hi Timothy,

That is a really good question. What I should clarify in the lecture is that there is in general no financially backed SLA for free services. You still get an SLA for the uptime of the free services, but you can’t claim a financial penalty if the SLA isn’t met. Read more here: https://azure.microsoft.com/en-au/support/legal/sla/summary/

I hope this makes it clearer and thanks a lot for the clarifying question.

Cheers,
Lars

This worries me; I prefer the SLA to be met by Azure, instead of getting a bit discount if Azure is not capable.
