SCT (Schema conversion tool) used for migration between cassandra and dynamodb

In this video, it was mentioned that SCT can’t be used for NoSQL databases and instead DMS should be used. But I have just gone through this blog post and it says it’s a two step process involving SCT and DMS.

https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/database/migrate-apache-cassandra-databases-to-amazon-dynamodb-more-easily/

First use SCT to convert schema and then use DMS to migrate from S3 to DynamoDB or other targets.

Hi Sagar,

It is possible to use SCT and DMS together…indeed Tool X and Tool Y together to do just about anything.  The point in the course is to be sure that you know that SCT is a schema conversion tool for relational databases and does not support direct conversion to a NoSQL DB because there’s just no concept of traditional normal form for those DBs.
