I had my exam today and to be honest: this course could use a little update. For example: although most is still valid, I had about 4 or 5 questions involving a Transit Gateway, which is nowhere to be mentioned in this course. Yes, it is mentioned in the beginning that AWS might ask about stuff which has been available for about 6 months and it is mentioned in a whitepaper. But TGWs have been around since 2018 and are commonly used. It should at least be mentioned once somewhere 😉
Another example: please update the security part with ‘new’ tools like Macie, GuardDuty, Inspector, Security Hub as I’ve had questions about the first three as well.
And… the new architecture icons have also been around since 2018 and in my humble opinion they are much easier to comprehend than those old goofy 3D icons. Not that it matters to the exam: that’s still text. And lots of it…
The course nevertheless helped me pass the exam 🙂
I’m still crossing my fingers, as I’m awaiting the confirmation mail, but thanks 😊
First, I’d like to thank the instructor of this course – great work, helped immensely. I took and passed the SAP exam last week, and here is my 2 cents: • If English is not your native language, ensure to get an extra 30 mins – you can always submit early if you don’t need it. • Knowing the details well (e.g., limitations of an AWS service) this would help eliminate incorrect answers (quicker). • Hands on labs/tutorials (google the internet) helped me a lot in addition to reading and memorizing the documents (e.g., white papers) • I don’t recall seeing questions about AI services or Machine Learning such as Amazon Rekognition, Comprehend, etc.
Another example is that he used "Launch Configurations" repeatedly mentioning they can’t be edited without one mention of Launch Templates. Launch templates have been out since the end of 2017.
Adding to this as I passed 4 days ago. AWS AppSync. I don’t think it was mentioned in the course.
