Years ago when I was learning networking I used the following mnemonic to remember the OSI layer
LOL, thats the one i learned too at University of Buffalo in the late 90’s!
Ah-hah, that’s a classic one. I was taught on this mnemonic ten years ago: (goes the other way around)
Physical Please Data Link Do Network Not Transport Throw Session Sausage Presentation Pizza Application Away
It can seem a little superfluous and silly with these mnemonics, but the OSI Model is a brilliant troubleshooting tool when working in the industry. Over time if you work with networking frequently, it gets ingrained into your head and flows easily.
