YAML is a lot easier for humans to read/write. Does anyone know if IAM will ever support editing policies in YAML instead of in JSON?

If you use CloudFormation, its supported now.

Yup, I’m aware. And it makes me think they’ll roll it out for writing policies right in IAM eventually, but I don’t know for sure and wanted to see if anyone had any info on that.
