I can not see the roles the function has access to or how to add trigger CloudWatch events. There is CloudWatch Logs under add triggers.

When creating the lambda function Demo problem.
cloudwatch events invokes lambda directly – add the lambda from cloudwatch – create a rule and it will show up on the "Targets" drop-down
for roles, these are added from the "Configuration" tab, selecting "Permissions" on the left column, and "Edit" on the "Execution Role"
this brings up a panel with a drop down of roles
