locked myself out of the S3 bucket

More of a warning than a question.

Not exactly sure what I did, but I think it had something to do with removing read access to bucket policies. Now, as owner, I get an error when I try and open the bucket. Even going to permissions tab to view the ACL’s just gives me an error.

Insufficient permissions

You need s3:GetBucketAcl permissions to view the Access Control List (ACL) details for this bucket.

Tried writing a new bucket policy and got access denied.

I guess this is why we play first and don’t try this at work.

Logged in as my root user and deleted the bucket policy, now I can access the bucket again. Note: Even as root user, I did not have permission to view the bucket, or edit the policy. But I coud view the policy and then delete it.
