Azs are not physically colocated and since we know so little about data centres. can anyone answer if data centres are physically colocated?

"Physically co-located" means objects are placed near or next to each other in the same location. So, no, data centers are not physically co-located.
Data Centers of AWS are either colocated or leased. A colocation means AWS pays for the power and infrastructure to be already set up instead of worrying about that themselves. Their share of the deal is to set up racks inside these enviroments and handle day to day operations in their data center.
