About the course

This course and the rest of the series cover the objectives for the SUSE Certified Administrator in Enterprise Linux 15 exam, # 050-754._

In this second course of the series, we’ll take a look at the practice of Remote Administration with SSH and VNC including configuring the SSH client and server. We’ll then dive deep into how SUSE Linux Enterprise Server systems boot, run, and manage services via systemd. We’ll then learn all about processes on SUSE Linux Enterprise, managing them, backgrounding them, and scheduling processes.

We’ll finish up this course with a great section on managing users and groups, all about file system permissions and Access Control Lists, and ending with privilege elevation/delegation via sudo.

We’ll then recommend the next steps for those pursuing the full SUSE Certified Administrator in Enterprise Linux 15 exam and certification.

What you will need

  • This course is not designed to be an introduction to the underlying Linux topics contained therein. It is to help the attendee understand the weird and very specific way that SUSE does it's versions of Linux. Those relatively new to foundational Linux concepts should take the LPI Linux Essentials or Linux+ courses to brush up on the fundamentals.

What are Hands-on Labs

What's the difference between theoretical knowledge and real skills? Practical real-world experience. That's where Hands-on Labs come in! Hands-on Labs are guided, interactive experiences that help you learn and practice real-world scenarios in real cloud environments. Hands-on Labs are seamlessly integrated in courses, so you can learn by doing.
