Hello Cloud Gurus! This month finds a lot of us working from home, and we’ve got just the thing to keep some of that cabin fever at bay — new courses, new installments of our original series, and a great expansion of our Exam Simulator.
A Starter’s Guide to IAM
As more and more companies deploy more and more of their applications to the cloud, the concept of identity and access management is critical to ensuring appropriate protection for your data — both from bad actors and from unintended actions.
This course provides a practical introduction to AWS Identity and Access Management Service (IAM) for developers and operators. Learn key terminology like ‘Roles’, ‘Managed Policies’, and ‘Access Keys’, the potential pitfalls you might encounter using IAM, and how to:
- Control user authorization in your AWS environment
- Integrate services across AWS using IAM
No coding experience is necessary – sample code is provided for all hands-on labs.
Practical Guide to Hybrid Azure AD Setup
Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) is one of the first services set up when an organization starts with Azure, and it’s at the heart of securing an Azure and Office 365 infrastructure.
This course provides an overview of Azure AD and how it aligns with other Microsoft directory services, then moves on to deploying a Hybrid Identity solution by connecting an on-premises Active Directory with Azure AD. From there, the course walks you through managing and monitoring the health and security of Azure AD.
Google Certified Professional Cloud Network Engineer
As the truism goes, “without networking, there is no cloud.” And as cloud technology continues to grow, it’s imperative that networking professionals understand how to design, implement, and manage networks on the cloud; particularly as it requires a shift in mindset from traditional on-premises networking.
This course will prepare you for the next step in your Google Cloud networking career and help you achieve the in-demand Google Certified Professional Cloud Network Engineer certification. Follow along with ACG instructor Karlos Knox and prove your expertise in designing, planning, and implementing successful, performant, and cost-effective networking solutions for your company.
AWS Certified Alexa Skill Builder – Specialty – Exam Simulator
Our Exam Simulator is one of our most popular features, and we’re thrilled to announce that it’s been expanded to cover Kesha Williams’ AWS Certified Alexa Skill Builder – Speciality course. Now you can put your Alexa Skills, er, skills to the test before you sit for your certification exam.
Release Review #303 – AWS Cloud Development Kit
In this Release Review, Travis Ralph checks out the new AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK), an open source software development framework to model and provision your cloud application resources using familiar programming languages. Travis runs through what CDK is and evaluates its usability, practicality, and stack instantiation options. He also examines the many services available for construct creation, packaging, and module import. Travis then demos a quick CDK Infrastructure as Code deployment for your VPC, and wraps up the episode with his pros, cons, and verdict.
We’ve also got two new Azure Fireside Chats, where Lars sits down with Azure experts Paula Januszkiewicz and Damian Brady, as well as new installments of GCP This Month and Kubernetes This Month.
Until next month, cloud gurus!
That about wraps it up for this month but be sure to keep an eye out for new courses and new features — we’ve got some really exciting stuff just around the corner. Until then, keep being awesome, cloud gurus!
